Here's a poster design I did for local Brisbane band 'Laique'. I met the singer, Kylie Southwell, through Myspace back in about 2007/08. She asked me if I'd be interested in doing some promotional art for them. A mix of old-timey jazz, gypsy, and Django, I was instantly drawn to their style of music, so I was happy to oblige.
(The typeface for the main title was drawn by Kylie)
They also wanted a black and white, easily photocopied version to hand out as fliers...
The following is one of the originals, before it was scanned and played with in Photoshop. In this step I photocopied the original line drawing, tea-stained the paper, and added highlights, etc...
Here's Laique playing at the old museum in Brisbane...

The Monkey Pirates
In 2009 I was commissioned to do a picture of something/anything for a child's bedroom wall. At the time I was working on The Monkey Pirates, so they seemed fitting subjects for this piece.

"Books about 'yukky' things" ABC Victoria
The following is an excerpt from a radio program recently discussing scatology in children's books. I had the honour of having Who Flung Dung? mentioned, and favorably so. I don't believe I've ever heard the word "sophisticated" used in discussing this book before now...
